Clive Langer has been in the Domino Records studio recording his version of The Monks' 'We Do Wie Du' and is launching it as a single in a one-off show at The Dublin Castle in Camden on Saturday 13 April.
If you don't know The Monks, you should! Formed by five American GIs while stationed in West Germany in the mid-60s, The Monks made just one album but had the distinction of being support to The Jimi Hendrix Experience in 1967 and gained a cult following over the ensuing decades, influencing bands such as The Dead Kennedys.
Clive's band for the Camden show will include The Reverend Max Ripple on keyboards, Gregg Braden on drums and the excellent McGuinness brothers, Eugene and Dominic, on guitar.
The short 30-minute set will include 'We Do Wie Du', of course, plus selected Clang and McGuinness tracks. Tickets are available now from wegotticketspriced at just £8.80 and Domino release 'We Do Wie Du' and its B-side in April as a vinyl single and download.
